I've Been Very Busy

Yes, I know I haven't been posting anything. It isn't that I don't want to. It's just been that I've been very busy!

You have no idea the amount of work it takes to keep a household running. Not that it's really my job, but Ma and Pa have been really busy, too, so that's left me to take care of everything. If it weren't for the big round-headed cat helping out I wouldn't have gotten nearly as much done.

Bagheera's been no help, laying about as if he were a king or something. He's always saying he has a tough time getting in his usual 20 hours of nap time every day, but I think he's just lazy.

The kids are still too busy being kids. Henry and Pip run around playing "Can't Catch Me" or batting around the squeaky mouses or catnip squirrels. Occasionally they'll have a nap attack, sleeping just long enough to recharge themselves so they can start all over again.

Minnie tries to help, but like me, she's too little to do any of the heavy work. She's a dainty lady, just like me, but with less luxurious fur.

And Cole helps sometimes, but he's easily distracted. (Personally I think he suffers from FADD - Feline Attention Deficit Disorder.)

I promise to try to write more often, but right now I've got to go inspect the litter boxes since Pa cleaned them just a little while ago. He usually does a pretty good job, but it never hurts to check and see if he missed anything.

It's Cozy Here!

It's still winter outside, something that bugs Bagheera to no end. He doesn't want to believe if it's winter at the front door it will also be winter at the back door. He's so stubborn!

Me, I have no problems with winter. It's not like I want to go outside anyways. It's too cold and my fur might get all dirty to the point where I'll have to spend a lot of time cleaning myself, even with the help of Ma and Pa brushing me. So I'd rather stay inside where it's nice and warm. In fact, my favorite place is in front of the big noisy black thing with fire in it because it's so warm. I even have my own pad to rest on!

Helping Out Around The House

As I explained earlier, my posting has been far too sporadic because Ma and Pa have been so busy. So to speed things up, I decided I'd help them with some of the things they have to do that takes up so much time...like paying bills.

Favorite Places

Well, it's 'bout time! I've had all these things I wanted to tell you, but I had to wait because Ma and Pa were busy doing other stuff. (I can't type very well 'cuz I don't have thumbs.)

Usually I tell Pa or Ma what I want to say and they type it for me. But sometimes they're too busy and I try to do it myself. I'm not very good and I don't spell very well.

There's lot's of things to tell, like my favorite places in the house. Right now I like to nap in front of the fireplace. It's very warm! It's even better when I can nap on one of the chairs set near the fireplace. Sometime Pa blocks the heat when he puts more wood into the fire 'cuz he's so big, but it keeps the fire nice and warm.

There are other favorite places I like to go, too. One of my other favorite places is something called 'the penthouse'. It's really nice and because it's so high I can see everything in the kitchen, living room, and dining room. Next time I'll have to show you pictures.

Too Many Changes At Home

There was all kinds of activity around the house today. Apparently Ma and Pa decided it was time to change things around, taking away one of my favorite toys: a tree with all kinds of dangling shiny things on it. At night it shined, making it easier to play with and to climb. I don't like it when they change things too much because it causes confusion. Things aren't where they're supposed to be and then we have to go looking for new things to play with.

Ma and Pa didn't like it very much when we climbed that tree. They were always chasing us away from it.

That's something I haven't quite figured out. Why hang all of those neat dangling shiny things from it if we aren't supposed to play with them?

I really think Ma and Pa don't understand the important things.

Still Trying To Get It Right

There's slow progress on my site, but it's understandable considering the upcoming holidays. My IT expert, (I call him 'Pa' cuz after all he feeds us, cleans our potties, brushes us, and takes good care of us) can be seen here working with me to get this blog looking just the way I want.



He's not an expert, but he sure can make me look pretty in just about every photo..well, except for the one above. The photographer did not catch my best side.

A Work In Progress

Hello. My name is Hilda and this is my blog. In case you can't tell from the photo at the top of this page, I can claim Maine Coon Cat heritage. This is fitting because I live near Maine, but not in Maine. (I think New Hampshire is much prettier than Maine, and I like to surround myself with pretty things.)

The staff is still working on getting this thing up and running properly. There are still bits and pieces that must be adjusted so this looks just the way I want it. I'd do it myself, but I really don't know a thing about any of this silly computer stuff.

I can't wait to show you my world!
